Roughly an hour east of Oxford is Tupelo, MS. Tupelo is a great town to visit for a day trip or weekend stay. With a bustling downtown area and several historical sites, it is certainly worth the visit!

Tupelo may be most well known as Elvis Presley's hometown. While in Tupelo, make sure to visit his birthplace. There is also a museum on site that chronicles his early years. They have also relocated the church that Elvis grew up attending and inspired his love of music to the site for visitors to enjoy!
Grab a sweet treat at: Crave
Crave is a cafe specializing in coffee and sweet treats. Located on the town square, this is a great spot to stop and grab a latte to-go before shopping around downtown. Make sure to also try the Skillet Cookie served in a hot cast iron skillet with ice cream on top!
Shop at: Downtown Tupelo
Downtown Tupelo is a historical district that also boasts many locally owned shops. One of the shops you need to check out is Reed’s department store which was opened in 1905 and is still standing over 100 years later!
Go antiquing at : Relic’s Antique Marketplace
Located in the historic Tupelo Garment Building, Relic’s is a 16,000 square foot antique mall with 117 vendor booths. The booths feature antiques, handmade goods, and so much more. Make sure to set some time aside as there is so much to see and you won’t want to miss any of it!
Eat at Neon Pig:
Neon Pig is a local favorite in Tupelo! They have an in-house butcher that ensures all their food is fresh and never frozen. Fan favorites include “The Smashburger” , winner of the best burger in America, and “The Belvis” which features bacon pimento and cheese. They also strive to support the Tupelo community by buying fresh local ingredients.
