Recap of POM Housing Week

We’ve officially kicked off the last leg of the school year! While we still have more than three months until summer, it’s already time to start thinking about next school year. People always say there’s a season for everything, and January/February happens to be leasing season in Oxford. If you don’t start looking for apartments or houses soon, you may find yourself in a sticky situation by the time you get back from Spring Break. To give out-of-town parents an inside look at several housing options in Oxford, Parents of Ole Miss recently hosted Housing Week; we conducted live video tours of various apartment communities (all pet-friendly) around town, (videos can be found here). Here is a recap and some highlights from Housing Week:

  • If you’re looking for individual units, Gather Oxford is a great option. Every unit has one bedroom, a bathroom, a living area, and a kitchenette. Each floor houses four people and has its own exclusive living room, full kitchen, dining room, and study space.

  • If you want separate houses, take a look at The Retreat. It offers a Colorado ski-resort feel with rows of both individual cottages and complexes. It also has two gyms and a dog park!

  • For students who want a sense of community and social interaction, The Hub has what you’re looking for. With an oversized game lounge and a hot tub that holds 60 people, it promises a great time with new and old friends.

  • Cambridge Station has a more charming, boutique vibe. Within walking distance from the university and the square, this recently renovated community offers a cozy sense of home (and free HBO).

  • If you’re looking for a more calm and quaint space, consider Lexington Pointe. It is a quieter community with a prime location tucked behind Jackson Avenue.

  • For a family-friendly atmosphere, check out Faulkner Flats. It houses people of all ages and professions. It also serves breakfast every morning and holds events to celebrate students coming back for school.

  • If you want a unique living experience, think about Uncommon. Located in-between campus and the square, it lives up to its name by offering residents a grocery delivery service and a membership to Goose Creek Club.

  • For the latest trends in apartments, Archive is a great option. Being the newest community in Oxford, it offers both flats and townhomes with a large beach-entry pool.

  • Check out The Domain if you want luxury! This resort-style community offers its residents tons of super-sized amenities, including a theater room and popcorn machine.

We made this handy chart to show other amenities of these properties, too.

While we toured a large number of residential communities during Housing Week, there are other properties in Oxford for students such as Highland Square, the Connection, U Club, Flatts at South Campus, and Taylor Bend.

If you are undecided about any of the properties in Oxford, feel free to visit their websites and tour the communities to get a feel for yourself. Happy house hunting!
